How Can I Improve It?

There are a number of things you can do to improve your blog’s SEO.

Here are some of the most important:

Meta descriptions

Make sure you have strong and effective meta descriptions. These are the brief descriptions of your blog posts that appear in search engine results pages. They should be interesting and compel people to click through to your blog post.

Use headers (H tags) in your blog post

Use headers, or H tags, to break up your blog post into sections. This makes it easier for readers to scan and helps search engines understand the structure of your blog post.

A good rule of thumb is breaking up (at least) every 200-300 word sections with a relevant header.

Conduct keyword research

Do keyword research to find the right keywords to target in your blog post. Keyword research is a critical part of all SEO and can help you get more traffic from search engines.

There are several different tools and options for performing keyword research.

Here are a few:

  • Google AdWords Keyword Planner: This is a free tool provided by Google that allows you to research keywords for your blog posts.
  • Keyword Tool.io: This is a paid keyword research tool that provides data from multiple search engines, including Google, Bing, Amazon, and YouTube.
  • Moz Keyword Explorer: This is another paid keyword research tool that provides data from multiple search engines, including Google and Bing. It also includes features like SERP analysis and keyword difficulty scores.
  • Keysearch: This is another keyword research tool I use. It’s really helpful for finding low competition keywords for your site.

Tips for using keywords for blog SEO

Once you’ve selected the right keywords for your blog post, you can start implementing them into your content.

Here are a few tips:

  • Use keywords in your titles and headings: This will help your blog post show up in search results for those keywords.
  • Use keywords throughout your blog post: Use them in the body of your blog post, as well as in the title, headings, and meta description.
  • Add keywords in anchor text: When linking to other articles or websites, be sure to use keywords in the anchor text (the clickable part of the link).

Implement those keywords

Include relevant keywords in your anchor text, which is the text people click on to be taken to a blog post or website. This helps search engines understand what your blog post is about and can improve your ranking for those keywords.

Beware over-optimization

As important as keywords are, you also need to be wary of overdoing them or what’s known as “keyword stuffing.” This is when a blog post is crammed with so many keywords that it’s difficult to read. Not only will this turn off your readers, but it will also get you penalized by search engines.

A good rule of thumb is to use a keyword about once for every 200 words in your blog post. So, if your blog post is 1000 words long, you should use your keyword about five times throughout the piece.

Further, you’ll also want to make sure you’re spacing those keywords out and using them naturally rather than forcing them into the content.

Internal and external linking

Link to other websites and blog posts, both internally (within your own blog) and externally (on other people’s blogs). This helps search engines understand the context of your blog post and can improve your ranking.

When adding links, be sure to use keywords in the anchor text (the clickable part of the link).

Link to blog posts and websites that are relevant to your blog post topic.

Don’t link to irrelevant websites or blog posts just for the sake of getting links. This will do more harm than good.

Use social media to grow your blog

Make sure you’re promoting your blog post on social media. This can help increase traffic to your blog post and improve your ranking in search engines.

Share your blog post on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, and other social media sites. Use relevant hashtags when sharing on Twitter and Instagram.
